Virtual courses are great. If you have expertise in a topic or can learn about a topic, making an easy-to-follow course for your audience to follow is a great way to show expertise and a great way to have authority on a topic.

Of course, there is a lot that goes into making a virtual course.

Because we’re selling a digital product, there needs to be a way to represent the digital product with some sort of a mock up.

Usually a physical product is something you can touch, or see. A digital product is usually some sort of an online video course coupled with group or one-on-one coaching.

A great way to represent your digital course is to use 3D mockups to show case. One of my favorite resources to use is called PSDCovers.

Their mockups are superior to others I have used and are by far the most cost-effective. They have a subscription for $4/month and it doesn’t take much to get really good looking covers.

These mockups are super flexible and versatile and allow you to showcase the products that you want customers to purchase. It’s not always necessary to do this, but it’s a great visual representation of what you’re selling or trying to sell.

Often times I see these types of mockups for online virtual courses or online lead magnets. I’ve seen them as physical books as well when you’re trying to represent your physical book in a digital space.

The nice thing about these mock ups is they offer a clean experience and presentation free from noise or disturbances. Effectively, they are perfect because they are rendered, not photographed.

Sure you can photograph an object, crop the background and then showcase the product that way, but then you may have distortion or noise as a result. This way, they are free from the distortions and noise.

You can see mockups that were rendered in the Facebook Advertising Course found by clicking the link. Additional renders can be found in the courses area on the site. Once you mock one of these 3D objects up, you can stack them and create the ultimate presentation. Look at all those iPads!

This way you can really show value.

The product above just screams value. The absolute quantity alone seems like it’s worth more than the actual price tag on it. And that’s exactly the point. The psychological elements of this is the exact same as in the physical world. Recall those commercials that mentioned “act now” and you’ll get “double your order”.

Colloquially called informercials, these presentations showcased MASSIVE stacks of products that you get for such a nominal fee. Effectively, we’re playing on consumer psychology here because we’re showcasing a massive display of product, but this time in the digital, not physical world. This plays on the same consumer psychology as you would in any other product presentation.

This puts the tangible to the conceptual and allows you to present your course, product or presentation in a different way. Something that the mind can remember and grasp on to from a mental, rather than physical standpoint.

Don’t skip out on this step. From a psychological standpoint, this is a very important way to present your product so that it is congruent with user expectations. Contrast this to just showing some random banners or concepts. This way, this puts the tangible to the intangible and makes your product more believable and therefore more valuable. If you’re looking for a quick and easy way to name your digital product or virtual course, check out this digital product name generator tool to get you started. I know, it’s a bit goofy, but enjoy.

This is what I call the digital product showcase. In other words, this is another way of value stacking your business offering. Sure, you can create ideations in the person’s mind, but this is a sure-fire and time tested digital marketing process that just works.
